Guides and answers for setting up your daily check-in, managing your circle, practising SOS, and configuring your legacy vault. Most people need only the first two.

01

Getting started

Set your check-in window, add one person to your circle, swipe once tomorrow morning. That's the working version. Everything else can wait until you feel like adding it.

02

Circle and roles

People in your circle each have a role: daily viewer, SOS contact, legacy recipient. Roles are additive — one person can hold all three, or you can spread them across a few people.

03

SOS and practice mode

Long-press SOS to trigger a real alert. Use practice mode in Settings → SOS to walk through the flow silently, so you know exactly what your circle would see.

04

Vault and legacy release

Add passwords, letters, and files to the vault. Set who receives what, and how long a silence has to last before release begins. You can adjust everything later — nothing is set in stone.

Frequently asked

How do I set up my first check-in?
Open imokie, pick your daily check-in window, and add at least one person to your circle. That's the whole setup — everything else is optional.
How do I add emergency contacts?
In Settings → Circle, add contacts and assign a role: daily circle, SOS contacts, and legacy recipients. Each role controls exactly what that person can see, and when.
How do I test SOS without alarming anyone?
Use the practice mode in Settings → SOS. It simulates the full flow — alerts, location prompts, cancel window — without contacting anyone in your circle.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Your vault is encrypted with a key derived from your recovery secret. Restore imokie on a new device using your recovery code and everything comes back — nothing lives on a server in plaintext.
How do I change my check-in window?
Settings → Check-in → Window. Changes take effect the next day so you don't accidentally trigger a missed-check-in nudge.

Quiet safety. For the people you love.
